Just over 60 dozen cookies. If you’re coming here because you grabbed a business card or from the Royal Bison site, don’t forget to like our Facebook page to keep up to date with all things Bloom. We’ll be back at it on May 19th at the City Market Downtown on 104th Street.

The Royal Canadian Circus is coming to Edmonton on May 22. The RCC posted a nauseating statement on their website that is vague and unsubstantiated, lacking any evidence of actual community support and involvement. So, naturally, I sent an e-mail.

A unique look on the streets of downtown Edmonton.

This guy is everywhere! Last year I saw him with an array of red cowboy hats and then a few days later he was wearing a Santa costume.

BIG SIGH OF RELIEF

floatingwalrus:

I’m NOT going to be living in a province that believes that homosexuals will forever burn in a lake of fire, that being white gives you an advantage, or that university students should refrain from doing anything that is biblically condemned.

I never thought I would be happy to see a Conservative government but am I ever relieved.

I also decided to vote for NDP today because I had checked a strategic voting site (I know, what am I doing throwing away my democratic right to vote whoever I want to) and it actually said that Brian Mason (the candidate for NDP in my riding) was going to win the seat…and he actually did!  Also, I’m super stoked that Rachel Notley won for Edmonton-Strathcona.

Anyways, I’m just relieved that we don’t have the Wildrose party leading this province.

There’s some shitty-ass dink on twitter (and who lives in Millwoods) with a name very similar to mine with opinions that are objectively awful. You don’t want your taxes to go to affordable childcare? Go fuck yourself. I don’t want my taxes to pay for your roads in Millwoods, because I fucking hate it there. But I’m going to keep paying them and you’re going to keep getting roads and also consider shutting your stupid fucking mouth forever.

Went to the Common on it’s first official day open! I’ve been living in the Grandin area for a few years and therefore used to recreate at Martinis. We were heart broken when it closed down many months ago for no [apparent to us] reason.

Anyway, we have been following the transformation of The Common in Martini’s old location for a while now and after experiencing it I must say I am very satisfied with the new décor/mood/menu. Beer isn’t too expensive, wicked food menu at a reasonable price and they kept the pictures on the wall. Unfortunately there weren’t any historical Edmonton photos that I could see but there were a few great bear photos framed in old golden frames.

My awful blackberry photos don’t give too much away but early evening it’s a nice bright white interior with clean lines and dark wood. Good service and the music wasn’t too loud. Best part, only two TVs!
